In China People’s Revolutionary Military Museum, there is a hand-driven generator "walking" from the bonfire of the Long March, and the mottled military green iron sheet on the surface of the generator leaves traces of time.
When the Central Red Army was preparing for the Long March, the Central Revolutionary Military Commission only had a hand-cranked generator and a transmitter, and the scarce equipment was particularly precious. The organization specially appointed a 128-person reinforcement company to protect these equipment. The Long March was a long and arduous journey, but the Red Army soldiers never left behind those precious equipment. They used their lives to guard the hand-cranked generators and transmitters and arrived in Yan ‘an, ensuring the transmission of troops’ information.
This hand-cranked generator witnessed the extraordinary long March of the Red Army soldiers, and also carried their belief in resolutely fulfilling their mission and their determination to sacrifice for the party.
Looking back on the journey more than 80 years ago, during the long March, Red Army soldiers fought more than 600 battles with the enemy, crossed nearly 100 rivers, climbed more than 40 high mountains and dangerous peaks, including more than 20 snow-capped mountains above 4,000 meters above sea level, and crossed the vast grassland known as the "death trap", conquering the limit of human survival with tenacious will.
