On May 19, China Mobile and Baidu held a press conference on the "5G + Beidou + V2X" intelligent transportation joint innovation plan in Beijing, launching the country’s largest 5G + Beidou high-precision positioning lane-level navigation application, which is the first time in the industry to upgrade the mobile phone lane-level navigation technology architecture for the country and the largest user scale. Based on the cooperation between the two parties, China Mobile’s Beidou high-precision positioning capability fully supports Baidu Maps’ online lane-level navigation function, restores the lane where the vehicle is in the normal driving process through high-precision positioning, and accurately provides navigation information such as turning and lane changing. At present, this function has covered high-speed expressways and some urban roads across the country. In the future, it will be applied to all mainstream mobile phones, supporting millions of ultra-high concurrency, tens of millions of massive access, 100 million user services, and 100 billion location service calls.

Up to now, China Mobile has built the world’s largest 5G network and Beidou high-precision positioning network, deployed over 1.55 million 5G base stations, served nearly 700 million 5G package users, and achieved continuous coverage of urban areas, counties and townships across the country; 4400 Beidou ground-based enhancement stations can provide high-precision positioning of OurHours global vehicles with complex scenarios such as tunnels. After more than 300 cities in 31 provinces across the country over 1.70 million kilometers of actual measurement and verification, centimeter-level positioning accuracy standards can be achieved, reaching the industry’s leading level.

Industry intelligence faces four challenges: data, computing power, algorithm and application deployment.

However, the process of industry intelligence is not smooth sailing, and this process faces four challenges: data, computing power, algorithm and application deployment.

First of all, industry data is difficult to collect, transmit and use. Secondly, large-scale model training needs a lot of computing power, and enterprises need flexible computing power supply to meet diverse computing power needs. Thirdly, it is difficult for the basic large model to meet the accuracy requirements of enterprises, and a large number of industry large models and scene large models are needed. Finally, the business processes and business scenarios of enterprises are very complex, and how to deeply integrate AI with enterprise business is a problem that needs to be considered.

The key to speeding up the intelligentization of the industry is to make use of smart data, intelligent calculation and intelligent assignment.

In the face of the above challenges, the key to accelerating the intelligentization of the industry needs to start from three aspects: intelligent knowledge of everything, intelligent calculation of everything, and intelligent empowerment of everything.

First of all, Zhilian Everything, through intelligent perception and connection, realizes extensive collection and efficient transmission of industry data. Industry intelligence is inseparable from data, and the source of data is perception. In the past, the perception system was seven countries and eight systems, and the protocol was not unified, so the data could not be collected, collected incompletely and could not be read. In the era of intelligence, the perception system needs to be upgraded in an all-round way, so as to realize multidimensional ubiquity, open interconnection, intelligent interaction and easy-to-use intelligence.

For example, in order to realize open interconnection, HarmonyOS IOT operating system realizes data collaboration through distributed soft bus, unifies the language of sensing devices, and has the characteristics of super security, easy use and easy maintenance. HarmonyOS is moving towards various industry scenarios, and Huawei has developed "Mine Hong" for mining industry, "Dianhong" for power industry, and IOT operating systems for cities such as HarmonyOS.

Secondly, we can calculate thousands of numbers intelligently, and rely on a powerful computing base to tap the value of industry data, so that it can be varied.

The data should not only be collected completely and well, but also be connected widely and spread quickly, which requires high-quality connection to realize the intelligent connection of everything, ultra-wide flexibility, intelligence and self-control. At the same time, in the network convergence and backbone layer, the 400G/800G metropolitan area network enables enterprises to quickly connect clouds, calculate and combine intelligence, enabling "east counting and west counting", "east counting and west training" and "east counting and west saving".

Huawei’s high-quality 10 Gigabit campus network, with one network bearing the needs of office, production and Internet of Things. Extreme speed AP supports various access modes such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and RFID, and seamlessly connects various terminals. Intelligent SD-WAN gateway adopts optimized transport layer protocol, and the bandwidth utilization rate is increased by 8 times under the condition of 1% packet loss rate. Third, give wisdom to all industries, solve the problem that AI is difficult to land in industry scenes, realize the deep integration of various modes and industry scenes, and empower thousands of industries.

Together with its industrial partners, Huawei has jointly built an open and leading AI-based software and hardware platform, built a solid computing base in China and built a second choice for the world.

On the hardware level, based on Shengteng, Huawei and its partners have created a full range of artificial intelligence products such as modules, boards, training and push machines, servers, PoD and clusters, covering the whole scene of "cloud, edge and end". Artificial intelligence has entered the era of big model, and large computing power cluster is becoming the commanding height and core engine of artificial intelligence development.

The big computing cluster here is not a simple server stack, but a continuous breakthrough in key technologies such as computing architecture, ultra-high-speed network interconnection, large-capacity ultra-high-speed storage, and system-level ultra-high reliability.

Atlas 900 SuperCluster, a rising AI computing cluster with a new architecture, was launched.

As artificial intelligence enters the era of big model, big computing power is becoming the core engine of artificial intelligence development. Huawei changed the traditional server stacking mode, created an AI cluster with system architecture innovation, realized the integrated design of computing power, transportation capacity and storage capacity, and broke through the bottleneck of large computing power.

Facing the era of large model with trillions of parameters, Huawei launched ——Atlas 900 SuperCluster, a rising AI computing cluster with a new architecture, which can support large model training with trillions of parameters. According to insiders, it has three advantages.

First of all, it has achieved super-large scale.

Relying on Huawei’s long-term accumulation in the network field, the brand-new Huawei Xinghe AI intelligent computing switch CloudEngine XH16800 is adopted, and with its highest 800GE port capability in the industry, 18,000-card non-convergence cluster networking can be realized only by two-layer switching network.

Secondly, an innovative super-node architecture is adopted.

The cards are interconnected by 800GB high-speed bus to form a super node. Taking an 8-cabinet super node as an example, it can realize unified addressing of 544TB memory and unified scheduling of 200P FP16 computing resources. The whole cabinet adopts liquid cooling design, which realizes stronger computing power with smaller volume, and one cabinet tops two cabinets.

Thirdly, the system-level ultra-high reliability is realized.

Based on Huawei’s years of accumulation in computing, network, storage, energy and other fields, we will give full play to the comprehensive advantages at the system level, build an ultra-high and reliable training cluster, improve the reliability by 10 times, and improve the stability of large-scale model training from the sky level to the month level.

In addition, hardware enabling is the key to release large computing power, and it is also the basis of large-scale model development. In order to accelerate the innovation of big models, Huawei has released a more open and easy-to-use CANN7.0, which is not only fully compatible with the industry’s AI framework, acceleration library and mainstream big models, but also deeply open the underlying capabilities, so that the AI framework and acceleration library can directly call and manage computing resources, so that developers can customize high-performance operators and make big models have differentiated competitiveness.

Facing the development of Transformer network model, Huawei upgraded Ascend C programming language, simplified the logic of operator implementation with a more efficient programming method, shortened the development cycle of fusion operator from 2 person-months to 2 person-weeks, and enabled the rapid development of AI models and applications.

Work with customers and partners to release intelligent solutions for nine industries.

Aiming at the pain points of demand and doing practical things is not only the spirit of hard work that the whole society needs most, but also the purpose of Huawei’s digital and intelligent transformation of the industry.

In the past three years, Huawei has set up an industry corps to go deep into the industry and scenes, shorten the management chain vertically, and better respond to customers’ intelligent needs; Quickly integrate R&D resources horizontally and fully support the intelligent transformation of thousands of industries. The white paper proposes that artificial intelligence has become the core kinetic energy to promote social development and change, and is serving more and more industry scenarios and helping the industry upgrade.   Jules verne once said: "What one person can imagine, another person can turn it into reality." Submarine, helicopter, spaceship, artificial intelligence, genetic technology and other important inventions and innovations are inextricably linked with science fiction works, which wrote the bishop for this sentence. Thus this famous saying has become the most classic description of the connection between science fiction and the real world.

  What can the current science fiction bring to the great changes in science and technology? How can technology lead human society to the future? Promised Land answers these questions.

  Recently, Ji Shaoting, the founder of the Future Affairs Administration, Jiang Bo, a science fiction writer, Zhang Jiaxing, the technical director of artificial intelligence of Ant Financial, and An Ye, the cultural editor of Zhanlu, came to Shanghai, bringing a collection of hard science fiction novels jointly contributed by seven cutting-edge writers who were shortlisted for the nebula award, Hugo award and other outstanding awards — — Promised land.

  Promised Land originated from the workshop plan of the Future Affairs Bureau. As a company focusing on science fiction culture, it has signed more than 100 domestic and foreign authors and created more than 800 novels. Since its birth in 1818, science fiction has been accompanied by the rapid development of science and technology in a country and an era. Excellent science fiction should be based on the thinking brought about by scientific and technological changes. The Bureau of Future Affairs hopes to attract more sci-fi writers to pay attention to the current changes in China. Ant Financial, as an important technology company in China, is a very good observation object. Therefore, the Bureau of Future Affairs invited more than a dozen science fiction writers and engineers of Ant Financial Artificial Intelligence Project to exchange ideas. Because of this opportunity, science fiction writers at home and abroad have the opportunity to get in touch with the technology being developed by Ant Financial. On the basis of knowing the technical mechanism, the authors have created independent stories.

  Science fiction writers use imagination to edit the future, and engineers are creating the future. Ji Shaoting said: "What changes can science fiction writers in China bring to the scientific research strength in China and the great technological changes that are taking place in China? This book is a start. I hope that it will still be considered by many readers after ten, twenty and fifty years, and will be verified or overthrown by the emergence of new technologies. "

  The story of "changing face"

  Jiang Bo contributed a story about "changing face" in The Promised Land. When financial criminals can use the technical loopholes of face recognition to hide the sky, personal privacy begins to be threatened by technology. Jiang Bo has been thinking about face recognition for the first time in the workshop. What kind of social problems will arise after the face brushing technology enters life? For example, is it feasible to change the facial features by light to make the machine misjudge? Coincidentally, soon after the story was written, I saw a news report about using faces to identify crimes. He believes: "If science fiction writers can run ahead of science and technology to predict something, it is a very meaningful thing for science fiction writers, and FACE/OFF partially achieved this."

  Regarding whether the "black technology" described in the book will really happen in real life, Zhang Jiaxing explained in time: "This method is actually using an algorithm to cheat the algorithm. For example, it looks like a cat and adds something to the algorithm. The naked eye recognizes that the cat is still a cat, but it has become a dog in the eyes of the machine. The plot of this novel twists and turns, and the description of technology is also very imaginative. However, the face recognition technology in reality is not as simple as that written in the novel. The technical model itself is highly confidential. Companies will set up security prevention and control algorithms for it, and will also identify people in all directions through comprehensive means such as infrared and laser. "

  "Enami made a deduction that is very close to the future in this novel. The best part is that this deduction was really realized later. In fact, whether it is cited or overturned, this is a good thing. I think this is the greatest value of this workshop — — Think and deduce the reality. " Ji Shaoting added.

  Not predicting the future, but giving imagination.

  Many people say that The Wandering Earth started the first year of science fiction in China, and the upgrading of technology made people truly realize the speed of scientific and technological development. Whether technology pursues imagination or imagination pursues technology has become a common problem for science fiction writers and technicians.

  Jiang Bo believes that technology and imagination are integrated. Just as there are myths in primitive society, science fiction was born on the soil of technology. Imagination is a part of human nature and shapes human world outlook. Technology and imagination are a unity, and they promote each other and evolve together. When discussing technology, we can’t define it by pure guilt or innocence. More often, we still keep technology neutral. Whether the future is a land of hope or death, the key is to control technology within a reasonable range and serve mankind.

  In Ji Shaoting’s eyes, science fiction is literature to watch the future. It is difficult to bear the function of predicting the future, but it can give countless imaginations. Whether these imaginations are good or bad, they simply depict the possibility of the future in everyone’s eyes. In the past 200 years, there will always be a few things in science fiction, such as humans setting foot on the moon, launching satellites, inventing tablet computers, and widely using big data. As Liu Cixin asked: "If the future is a high-speed car, and artificial intelligence technology is its throttle, then what technology can become the brake of this car?"

  Perhaps for science fiction, the real value lies in asking questions rather than answering them, because there will always be new technologies to subvert or answer them, so you don’t have to answer them, just think. It is precisely because of this kind of thinking that some bad futures have not appeared, which is also the significance of science fiction.

  The door of science fiction will not be closed.

  "You are walking on the plain, and suddenly you meet a wall. This wall is infinitely high up, infinitely deep down, infinitely far to the left and infinitely far to the right. What is this wall?"

  With "Three-body" winning Hugo Award, sci-fi works have entered people’s field of vision widely. The double outbreak of The Wandering Earth’s word-of-mouth and box office has immersed creators and audiences in the wave of sci-fi. Recently, the controversy over "Shanghai Fortress" has made everyone start to wonder whether China’s sci-fi movies will end at the beginning.

  China science fiction is still in its infancy, and the emergence and development of anything is not smooth sailing. Ji Shaoting said: "It can be said that The Wandering Earth started, but it doesn’t mean that all the works will get better and better in the future. After that, we will see all kinds of works writing different sci-fi futures, sorting out experiences in success, and bringing inspiration and value in failure. There is an excellent domestic sci-fi movie that people often ignore, Crazy Alien, which is inspired by Liu Cixin’s Country Teacher. There are few excellent domestic comedy sci-fi movies, and people tend to pay more attention to those works with big splash. The problem now is that we have too few science fiction works, and we can’t define China science fiction just by a few works. "

  Domestic science fiction has attracted enough attention, and the potential audience is so huge that it has become history for Chinese people not to watch science fiction and care about the future. The popularity of Three-body in Japan also shows that China’s science fiction works have attracted the attention of international audiences. When more creators and supporters join the industry and have confidence in the sci-fi market in China, everyone is thinking about their relationship with science and technology, which is the essence of sci-fi works.
